Community Crochet Circle, 2009-2010. Members of the Luther College and Decorah, Iowa communities participated in a drop-in crochet circle workshop, adding two new totems and multiple stacking elements to the installation.  We sat just outside the gallery where we could invite passers-by to join in.  Several participants already knew how to crochet, and they made some unique and challenging forms--such as a gigantic lace doily.  It became a part of the central cone stack, but may eventually become the centerpiece of its own totem or other sculpture.
